How to read the result
“Best” depends on which way the money is moving.
If you have dollars and want Birr, the bank is buying USD. Compare the highest current buying rate. If you have Birr and need dollars, the bank is selling USD. Compare the lowest current selling rate. The same bank may not be best in both directions.
For illustration only, if one bank buys a dollar for ETB 162 and sells it for ETB 165, its spread is ETB 3 per dollar. On USD 100, that is a ETB 300 difference between those two sides before any separate fees.
